Super Mario is a video game franchise developed and published by Nintendo. It has been covered many times in Game Theory, Culture Shock, Game Exchange, Smash History, A Brief History, Break Down, and The SCIENCE!
There are more episodes on the Mario franchise than any other game or game series on The Game Theorists, with a total of 31 videos centered around it, including 15 Game Theories and 7 Culture Shocks alone.

Game information
The first Mario games was the arcade classic Donkey Kong, which featured a "damsel in distress" plot, a staple used in many Mario games since. Super Mario is one of Nintendo's biggest titles, and spin-offs of other major characters exist as well, such as WarioWare and Donkey Kong Country.
The games were mostly platformers until Super Mario 64, in which 3D graphics were used. The franchise is also notable for crossing many different game types, such as racing, party, RPG, adventure, and puzzle.
