Game information

Sonic the Hedgehog is a game franchise developed by Sega. The series is centered around Sonic, a blue hedgehog who can run at superhuman speeds. Most game plots include him and his allies, notably Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, stopping the plans of the franchise's main antagonist, Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. Each character has a different ability: for example, Sonic has super speed and Tails can fly for a limited time. Recurring items and power-ups include rings and Chaos Emeralds, which, when all seven are collected, turn Sonic into the golden Super Sonic. Springs can be used to get to high areas, and have become a staple of the franchise. There was also a television show based on the games.
